Are you struggling to get the best accuracy from your rifle, wanting to stretch your
shooting out to longer distances or ready to take that next step into competitive F-Class
shooting? If so, look no further than our 2026 “introduction to F-Class” training weekend
at Bisley Ranges UK between the 6th – 8th March.
AIM
To explain and demonstrate the key differences between F-Class F/TR and F-Open to both new and inexperienced
members and increase the general knowledge of members interested in participating in competitions.
ACTIVITIES
1/ Reloading – We’ll discuss what’s involved with safely reloading for accuracy and answer any questions you may
have on reloading and preparation as well as covering all the components and equipment required to carry out
this process safely for both F/TR and F-Open disciplines.
We’ll also encourage open discussions between our training group and team of very experienced staff who are all
proficient reloaders and competitive shooters at both National and International level.
2/ Short & Mid range shooting – Friday 6th March (AM/PM) will be an enjoyable mix of classroom sessions, range
time and cover in detail competitive etiquette, use of score cards in matches, shooting in pairs and all the relevant
targets used in both short and long range F-Class competitions.
You’ll be taken to the range and shown how to zero your rifle properly at 100 yards, take accurate velocity reading
for your ammunition using a chronography and shown how to create an accurate ladder of elevation settings, all
the way out to 1000 yards. Operating in small groups, we’ll then move out to 600 yards in the afternoon session,
confirming your elevation settings for accuracy along the way.
Saturday 7th March (AM/PM) will be spent at 900 yards in both the morning and afternoon sessions, with our
team of staff guiding you on the correct body positions needed for shooting in the prone position. We’ll also
including valuable wind reading tips to help you get the most from the days exercise.
Sunday 8th March (AM) will be a morning session only and conclude with a match of 2x Sighters and 10 or 15x
Shots to count at 1000 yards. This will test your equipment and ammunition to the maximum and be a great
opportunity to put everything you’ve learnt throughout the weekend into practice. We’ll also award a small prize
for the highest scoring F/TR and F-Open shooter on the day.
(NB – As F-Class is based around MOA sized targets and the use of MOA plotting sheets, a rifle scope with MOA
adjustments in both elevation and windage will be required, preferably with magnification of 30x or higher).
3/ Plotting wind and elevation including basic rifle maintenance – This will cover the use of MOA plotting sheets
and wind + elevation graph plotting. We’ll then go onto discuss basic rifle cleaning and scope maintenance. This
will highlight the correct way to fit a scope onto your rifle, ensuring it’s upright and level before moving onto basic
trigger maintenance and general cleaning.
4/ F-Class as a discipline – This will cover an overview of the main rules relevant to shooting F-Class with a recap
on the etiquette involved in competing in matches.
DURATION OF COURSE AND LOCATION
Our course will be run over 3 days. 09:00 – 17:00hrs Friday, 08:30 – 17:00hrs Saturday and 08:30 – 15:00hrs
Sunday (lunch breaks between 12:30 – 13:30hrs on all days).
All classroom sessions will take place within the large function room in the London & Middlesex Clubhouse, with
range sessions split between Short Siberia (100 yards), Century Range (600 yards) and Stickledown Range (900
and 1000 yards). A detailed course program with all the relevant timings and agenda will be sent out to all our
confirmed attendees in early January 2026.
COSTS AND HOW TO ENTER
It’s £170 per entry and our training weekend is open to a maximum of 20x shooters. This will be on a first booked,
first paid basis.
(Please note, this price doesn’t include accommodation or food and attendees will be responsible for those

Entries will close in early February, and we have a minimum requirement needed in order to make this course
viable for the GBFCA to run. If we don’t reach that required number by February, we may have to cancel the
course. If this happens, you will be refunded your entry payment.
Suitable attendees will need an F.A.C, a current Shooter Certification Card and MUST be full members of either
the G.B.F.C.A or the NRA UK ahead of our training weekend. You will also need to bring a suitable rifle + scope
and plenty of ammunition, including a pen and paper for taking any relevant notes.
